What it is
The Wyandotte County Municipal Court (formally operating under the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas) is a local judicial body of limited jurisdiction in the state of Kansas. Its mandate is to adjudicate non-felony offenses, including municipal code violations, local traffic infractions, and city ordinance breaches. Established following the consolidation of the city and county governments in 1997, the court unified administrative functions across the jurisdiction while continuing a local municipal court heritage dating back to the incorporation of Kansas City, Kansas in 1872.
